Solution to the Trigo. Qn.

Question: Prove that tanA + tanB + tan C = tanA tan B tan C, where A, B and C are angles of a triangle.
Solution: tan A + tan B + tan C = tan (A + B) (1 - tan A tan B) + tan C
                                                = tan (180 - C) (1 - tan A tan B) + tan C
                                                = -tan C (1 - tan Atan B) + tan C
                                                = -tan C + tan C tan A tan B + tan C
                                                = tan A tan B tan C (proven)

Term 3 Starts

Today is the first day of term 3 for secondary, JC and poly students, hope every student has a great day at school (though some of my students have exams today). Hope they find the exams/tests easy.:)

Here is a challenging Additional Mathematics question for you to try (Sec. 3/4 students should be able to do it):

If A, B and C are angles of a triangle, prove that tan A + tan B + tan C = tan A tan B tan C.
